Rabbit Sleeps Through Alarm, Misses Interview
by Scott Friedstein, FluffPo Correspondent
His suit was pressed. His resume was printed. Gus the rabbit was going to ace that job interview – that is, if he had bothered to be awake for it.
“He slept right through his alarm,” says Corey Bortnick, a friend. “You know that rabbit who was late for a very important date? Well this was just like that – except the date was an assistant management position at Target.”
A notoriously heavy sleeper, Gus had unfortunately forgotten to turn up the volume on his iPhone alarm.
“He’d probably still be asleep if I hadn’t called him to ask how it went,” says Bortnick. “I guess that’s what he gets for scheduling an interview for three in the afternoon.”
At press time, Gus was looking into other options, which included a lower-paying retail position at H&M.

Puppy Taken First Overall in Professional Fetch Draft
Last night’s Professional Fetch League draft opened with a bit of a surprise when Kansas City selected 2-month-old Riley, a puppy from California, with the number one overall pick.
“We think Riley has the natural talent to be a star in this league,” said Kansas City Mud Hounds GM Billy Hannigan. “We’ll assign him to our development club in Wichita and hope to call him up mid-season.”
Though there is no dispute over Riley talent – he’s quick off the blocks and has 25" vertical leap – he was considered a signability concern coming into the draft. The pup is strongly committed to Miss Marcy’s K9 Training Academy this fall and it was assumed he would fall to the fourth or fifth round.
“He’s a great pick,” said one rival GM. “But [Kansas City] will have to pay a lot of kibble to buy him out of his commitment.”
The draft’s first two rounds were held last night at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY and broadcast on ESPN. Round three through 10 will be held today and livestreamed on the PFL’s website.
