Curious Kitten Wonders Where String Leads

According to sources on the scene, a kitten in Western Finland has taken it upon herself to figure out where a mysterious string found on the street leads.  The kitten began her quest at dawn this morning and has vowed to keep following the string until she either finds where it ends or gets distracted and starts batting it around.

New Study Claims Spoon Fed Kittens More Likely to Be “Total Jerks”

A study from the Canine Learning Institute in Walla Walla, WA claims that cats who are spoon fed as kittens are 10 times more likely to be “complete and total jerk faces” by the time they reach their formative years.  Critics of the study cite that because the research was conducted by dogs, its results should be more carefully scrutinized.  A spokesman for cats declined to comment saying that The Fluffington Post was “completely beneath them.”

Ostrich Stuns Animal Community: Admits to Using Fake Lashes

In a shocking development that has set the animal kingdom reeling, an ostrich has admitted that the long, luxurious eye lashes it has become known for are fakes. A spokesperson attributed the bird’s actions to “mounting pressure” felt from the growing popularity of other large flightless avians, name emus.  It is still unclear whether any punishment will be handed down from the Office of Animal Affairs.

The photo above is from the last official ostrich photo shoot.

Pygmy Goat Part of Some Complicated Rube Goldberg Device

Pygmy Goat Part of Some Complicated Rube Goldberg Device

A farm in Somis, California has released a photo of one piece of what owners say will be a record-setting, giant Rube Goldberg device.  According to the press release that accompanied the above photo, the machine, which is still under construction, will be a world record setter in terms of size and complexity.  The farm is building the device as part of its bicentennial celebration and plans unveil it at a fundraiser for a local food bank in May.

As best we can tell from the photo released today, at least one live animal will have a part in the machine’s operation. The goat pictured above appears to be hooked up to some sort of lazy Susan that we can only assume will spin once the machine is set in motion.
