Cat Loses Laptop

Oliver the cat knew he shouldn’t have taken his new MacBook on the bus. Even in its clearly marked tote bag, the laptop was all too easily forgotten when Oliver got off at his stop last weekend.

“I couldn’t believe he would just forget it like that – he’s only had the thing for a month,” says Dan Welker, a source close to the cat.

Despite filing a claim with the local bus company, Oliver has yet to see his computer. As one would imagine, things just haven’t been the same.

“He’ll go to Starbucks, but he won’t know what to do,” says Welker. “Normally, he’d have his MacBook with him. Now he just sits there, waiting for his coffee to boot up. It’s actually pretty sad to watch.”

Area Cat Relaxes After Hard Day of Napping

After a long day of sleeping, napping and lounging about his Kentucky home, Mister the cat needs some “me” time to unwind. That’s why he likes to plop himself down on the living room couch and just chill out.

“He puts in so many hours sleeping during the day," said Lyle Stanton, a long time admirer of the hardworking cat, "that he deserves some time to just relax by himself on the couch. He needs to recharge his batteries so he can stay fresh for tomorrow’s naps.”

No word on what Mister likes to watch on TV or if he ever gets up to fetch a snack from the kitchen.

Kitten Remodels Bathroom

When Tiger the cat bought her run-down triplex on Hudson Avenue in 2009, her intention was to renovate the first and second floors and get them rented out immediately, while slowly updating the third floor for herself.

Three years and numerous construction headaches later, she’s finally completed the remodel of her third-floor apartment. The final room to be renovated was the master bathroom, and as everyone knows, the most important part of the bathroom for a cat is the sink.

“She went totally high end,” said close friend Armando Perez. “She had porcelain sink custom made in Germany, so it fits her like a glove, and installed really nice Kohler fixtures.”

Tiger is reportedly enjoying her new oasis and finally feels truly at home in her apartment.

Puppy Lays Claim to Vast American Wilderness

When a beagle named Copper set out on a mapping expedition last fall, he never dreamed he’d find such pristine, untapped wilds. The puppy has sent reports back to base camp with tales of vast, uninhabited forests in the Great Smoky Mountains of the Southeastern U.S.

According to his bank rollers, Copper has claimed the land for himself, and set up a make-shift municipality called Copperton. Early reports indicate that he has begun settling the wilds.

“It’s hard to mark 187,000 acres of Appalachia with your pee, but Copper’s working on it,” says park ranger Dan Fillion, who is keeping tabs on the puppy from a distance. “He can make claims all he wants. This place has been federal parkland since 1934.”

It’s likely Copper is unaware of the legal challenges to his claim, but friends of the beagle expect him to fight for it in court when the issue arises.
