STUDY: When the Working Day Is Done, 97% of Cats Just ‘Wanna Have Fun’
Psychologists at Dartmouth University have published a paper on feline stress. Their findings indicate that most cats – a whopping 97% – engage in some sort of playful activity at the conclusion of a working day. Why?
“They just wanna,” says Dr. Richard Berkus, the lead author of the paper. “They just wanna,” Dr. Berkus repeated, presumably for emphasis.
The study was conducted with a representative sample of 1,000 cats, many of whom have stressful day jobs.
“We found an overwhelming majority of cats like to relieve daily stress by letting loose and having fun,” says Dr. Berkus. “They want to be the ones to walk in the sun, you know?”
