Cat Can’t Unsee Raccoons’ Romantic Encounter

A cat named Sharon has lost significant sleep in recent weeks after witnessing a romantic liaison between two raccoons outside her Toronto home.

“Every time she closes her eyes, there they are,” says Isabel Parker, a family friend. “You know. Doing it. I think she’s traumatized.”

Sharon’s doctor has recommended sleep therapy and even prescribed pharmaceutical aides, to no avail.

As for the raccoons, local law enforcement has been looking into a string of lewd behavior offenses in the neighborhood, but pinpointed no suspects.

Reformers Challenge ‘No Girls Allowed’ Rule at Raccoon Tree House

For as long as it has existed, the raccoon tree house in the big oak tree has been a ‘No Girls Allowed’ club. But following the retirement of aging leader Benny, some are calling for reforms to long-held traditions.

“No girls allowed just doesn’t fly this day in age,” said Alison Vance, a spokesperson for the reform group. “This is a perfect time for the club to explore what qualities they want in a new leader, and an acceptance of female leaders should be a priority. It’s time to change.”

The club is expected to elect a new leader this week.

Rescuers Save Baby Raccoon From Sewer Grate

Bill Zimmer of Dearborn Heights, MI noticed a baby raccoon trapped in a manhole cover Wednesday morning. According to a press release, he and his fellow Department of Public Works employees used “vegetable oil and dish soap .. and a little TLC” to free the furry guy from his predicament.

Raccoon Connected to Elaborate Car Theft Ring

Jimmy “The Raccoon” Spinozio, a raccoon crime lord and patriarch of Boston, MA’s Spinozio family, has been connected by law enforcement to a ring of chop shops closed last fall. 

“The Raccoon has been on our watch list for three years,” said Agent Tom Spravel, of the FBI’s mob crimes division.  "We now have evidence that connects him to the chop shops closed last year and to at least 10 incidences of grand theft auto.“

There is speculation that Spinozio is already in FBI custody and has turned state’s witness.
