Ferret Takes Cross-Country Train Trip

For Humphry, a ferret from Long Island, NY, it is the realization of a lifelong dream. An avid ferroequinologist (train enthusiast), Humphry has always wanted to ride the rails across America.

After saving his pennies for years, Humphry is finally making his dream a reality. This week, he set off on a 21-day train adventure that will take him from New York to Colorado and out to California. 

“He was so excited,” said Dana Caffrey, the ferret’s travel agent. “He bought a new camera, he got new luggage. I’m sure he’s having the time of his life.”

Goat Practices Parkour Moves at Park

Parkour is all the rage among goats. The non-competitive urban sport in which participants utilize their surroundings to perform vaults, leaps, swings, jumps and other moves to maintain momentum began catching in the goat community earlier this year.

One local goat was spotted this week practicing moves in the park.

“I’ve never seen anything like it,” said picnicker Zahira Turner. “That little goat was jumping from one rock to another, hopping over fences, climbing walls. It looked really fun.”

The key to successful Parkour is maintaining momentum while maximizing creativity and agility and remaining safe at all times, said Johannes Aarsbergen, an instructor of the sport from Copenhagen, Denmark.

“Goats, especially mountain goats, are naturals,” he said.

Ferret Cast in ‘Hangover’ Sequel

The Hangover Part III may be hitting theaters later this month, but that hasn’t stopped studio executives from planning yet another sequel. Early word is that The Hangover: Ferrets has already been greenlit, and its lead actor cast.

“We really wanted Part III to be the last one” says producer Daniel Goldberg. “The thing is, the demand for ferret comedies is huge right now. We’d be dumb to pass up an opportunity like this.”

The film will star Hollywood heavyweight Eddie as a ferret who parties a bit too hard one evening, and must retrace his steps to find his missing ferret buddy. 

“It’s a real nightmare situation,” says Goldberg. “His friend’s gone, his hotel suite’s trashed, and there’s a Bengal tiger just roaming around. Plus there’s a baby ferret that randomly showed up overnight. Never a good thing.”

Rated R for language and comic mischief involving ferrets, The Hangover: Ferrets is slated for a summer 2014 release.
