Bunny Politician Refuses to Concede Congressional Seat

Though election night is behind us and the votes long-since tallied, a congressman in Wisconsin’s 7th district, known only as “The Bunny,” has refused to give up his seat, despite being roundly defeated by his challenger, a chinchilla named Eric Wrigley.

“The results are clear – it was a landslide,” says John Canova, an attorney with the Wrigley campaign. “The Bunny simply won’t concede. We may have to physically remove him from his office in January. I just hope it doesn’t come to that.”

Kitten Barbershop Quartet to Sing at Presidential Inauguration

Whether swearing in current U.S. President Barack Obama for a second term, or inaugurating a first term for presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, one thing is certain for January 20, 2013: the all-kitten barbershop quartet known as Meowscapades will perform live on the inauguration dais.

The Presidential Inaugural Committee has confirmed to The Fluffington Post that is has booked Meowscapades to perform “God Bless America” immediately after the president takes the oath of office.  For the kittens, this will be the first concert to a live television audience and it will coincide with the release of their second album.

CNN Unveils All-Kitten Election Night Team

For the past few presidential elections, 24-hour news network CNN has been known for its Election Night technology.  In 2008 the network debuted a studio filled with giant touch screens and contributors beamed in via hologram.

For 2012, CNN is pulling out all the stops.  At a press event this morning in the company’s headquarters Atlanta, GA, the network unveiled its Election Night news team.

Gone are mainstays Wolf Blitzer, John King, Candy Crowley and Anderson Cooper – instead, CNN’s 18-straight hours of November 6 news coverage will be anchored by a team of kittens.

“Some might think it an extremely risky move to rely on a group of rookies for such a huge live news event,” said media gazer Ron Calumet, “but I think this is smart for CNN.  They need something to energize ratings and kittens are really, really popular.”

Dog Worried Big Bird Halloween Costume Is Too Political

Hercules was always planning to dress up as Big Bird for Halloween this year.  After all, the giant avian is his favorite Sesame Street character.  But when the big yellow bird became a politically charged campaign issue following the first presidential debate earlier this month, Hercules began to worry that his costume choice might be too political.

“He’s not trying to send a political message,” said Keith Hagens, a source close to the situation.  "He just really, really loves Big Bird.  He doesn’t want anyone to think he’s supporting one candidate or the other.“

Hercules has not yet decided if he will keep the costume or pull a last minute audible and find something else to wear trick-or-treating.

Cat Loses Followers Due to Too Many GPOYs

Georgie the cat was a hit on Tumblr, that is, until he started posting non-stop selfies.

There were shots of Georgie in bed, brushing his teeth, laying out by the pool, trying on clothes at the mall, hanging out with friends.  And it all got to be too much for many of his followers.

“Georgie used to have a really great Tumblr,” said ex-fan Jan Perkins. “I loved all the inspirational quotes he posted and the hilarious GIFs of 90s memes.  But then the GPOY-fest started. It was just Georgie, Georgie, Georgie all the time.  No thanks.”

According to unconfirmed reports, the kitty is down 15,000 followers over the past three weeks.
