Dog Sends Clear Message to Her People

Magenta the dog just moved into a new apartment and she has a message for her roommates: “You can stay, but this is my house.”

What do her people think about that? There’s not much they can do.

“We split the rent evenly, but she pays most of the utilities,” said roommate Marvin Toleson. “She’s really got us over a barrel.”

Among the new house rules that Magenta has instituted: the TV will only be tuned to Animal Planet and no vacuuming while she’s around. She’s also created a variety of themed meal days during the week.

“I can live with Bacon Tuesdays,” said Toleson, “but I’m having a real hard time adjusting to Whatever You Find in the Backyard Fridays.”

Frenchie and Pug to Star in ‘Lethal Weapon’ Reboot

When Joel Silver and Richard Donner announced their intentions to film another Lethal Weapon movie at Cannes last May, everyone assumed Mel Gibson and Danny Glover would reprise their roles. However, Gibson reportedly still has no interest in the long-rumored sequel. 

So what are Silver and Donner up to?

According to a report on Deadline.com, the project isn’t a sequel, but a full franchise reboot. 

“With Gibson not interested, Warner Bros. has put Lethal Weapon 5 on ice,” said the site. “Instead Donner has penned a reboot of the series and sources tell Deadline that two dogs have been cast to star in the new film.”

The Fluffington Post has learned that the two leading roles have indeed been given to a pug and a french bulldog that are relative unknowns in the industry.

Filming is expected to begin in January and the movie has a planned release of holiday 2014.

Area Puppy’s Stall at Farmer’s Market Is a Success

A local dog named Hazel found success this week at the farmer’s market when she set up a stall to sell handmade treats.

“Mostly braided chewtoys made from recycled t-shirts and a few home baked doggie biscuits,” said Marjorie Wacha, who serves as chief administrator of the market. 

According to Wacha, Hazel was a big hit and sold out of her chewtoys in the first hour.

“With the holidays coming up, I really hope she decides to sell at our winter market, which moves indoors next week,” she said.
