Hamster’s Run-In With Robot ‘Adorable,’ Say Experts

A hamster in Chiba, Japan had what experts are saying was a “most adorable meeting” with a tiny Amazon.co.jp spokesrobot last week.  The two creatures met at a professional mixer at a downtown club and were reportedly very cautious at first.

“It was a lot of sniffing from the hamster and confused ‘beep-boops’ from the robot,” said one witness.  "But by the end of the night, they were getting along famously.“

The two are now fast friends and have already accepted an offer for a movie deal from Disney, loosely based on their week together.

‘Presidential Looking’ Cat Mistaken for Mitt Romney

A cat in Tampa, FL named Smokey was today mistaken for Republican nominee for U.S. President, Mitt Romney.  The cat was reportedly minding his own business at a cafe downtown, when a throng of GOP supporters and journalists descended upon him.

“He just looked so presidential sitting there reading the New York Times, we were sure it was him,” said Anne-marie Hayhurst, who was in town for the Republican National Convention.  "We asked for an autograph and it wasn’t until his signed his name ‘Smokey’ that I realized it was a cat and not Mitt Romney.“

Political pundits often talk about a candidate’s ability to "look presidential” as an important factor when predicting close races.  Of course this particular cat’s ability to look like a commander-in-chief has no bearing what-so-ever on whether candidate Romney can project that image.

Pug Still Indecisive Over 2012 Election

While there’s still plenty of time until November, most Americans have made up their minds on whether to vote for Barack Obama or Mitt Romney as the next president of the United States.

One undecided voter is Carlo the pug. While he is a fiscal conservative, he just can’t get behind the social platforms of the Republican party.

“He’s a little freaked out that he can’t decide right now,” says Chelsea Mason, a source close to the situation. “He takes voting very seriously.”

Thespian Hamster to Star in Rodent Adaptation of ‘Hamlet’

The Royal Shakespeare Company’s upcoming production of Hamlet has a new twist: All the parts will be played by small, furry actors.

“It’s only fitting that the title role be played by a hamster,” says Joyce Berger, creative director. That honor has been bestowed on Jackson, a classically trained hamster actor who sees the opportunity as a breakout role.

“We think he’s really going to shine,” says Thomas Cole, the show’s director. “You’ll never think about Shakespeare the same way again.”
