Dog Protests Company-wide Pay Cuts

Copernicus the dog has worked at Wiley & Glazier, a specialty gifts catalog located in Yonkers, NY for the past seven years.  After multiple consecutive quarterly losses, management team made the decision this morning to announce company-wide pay and schedule reductions.  Copernicus did not take it well.

According to co-workers, the dog decided to stage a sit-in in his boss’s office.

“He’s really miffed about the latest pay cuts,” said cubicle mate Aaron Walker.

According to Walker, Copernicus may have a legitimate beef. Wiley & Glaziers has been hemorrhaging  customers the past few years because the company has balked at getting into e-commerce.

“We don’t even have a web site, let alone Facebook or Twitter accounts,” said Walker.  "Copernicus has been pushing for us to develop a social media strategy for years, so this was the last straw.“

No word on how long Copernicus plans to stay put in his boss’s office.

California Husky Ditches Doggie Paddle for Shallow End

Los Angeles-based husky Ireland (“Woofies” to her friends) is a snow dog by trade. She beats the California heat with frequent dips in the pool, but you won’t find her in deep water.

“She always prefers the shallow end,” says Christine Beaumont, a lifeguard at the municipal pool. “In fact, we set up a private pool for her to hang out in. There’s only about two inches of water in there at any given time.”

REPORT: Stand Up Desks Are Better for Cat Health

Sitting all day can kill you.  At least according to some reports.  That’s why more feline office workers are opting to ditch the traditional cubicle setup in favor of so-called stand up desks.  

The desks, which are essentially a raised platform on which you can prob your laptop or computer, force the user to stand while working.  This greatly increases circulation and can increase kitty life expectancy by up to 40%.  As an added bonus, the desks reportedly reduce on-the-job napping and can help combat feline obesity.
