Puppies Face Mounting Student Loan Debt
Today’s puppies have incurred substantially more student loan debt than previous generations, according to a New York Times report. The burden is beginning to take its toll.
“We found the price of obedience school today is 10 to 20 times higher than it was 15 years ago,” Times reporter Jenny Wachowiak tells The Fluffington Post. “The increase has not kept pace with wages. So puppies graduate with a mountain of debt, and not a lot of high-paying job opportunities.”
Young dogs might find work in the seeing-eye industry or show business. But hunting – a lucrative career option for previous generations – isn’t what it used to be.
“Even if a puppy finds work, it may not be enough to pay the rent and loans,” says Wachowiak . “We’ve talked to many puppies who unfortunately see bankruptcy as a viable way out.”
