Eukanuba to Sponsor All Puppy America’s Cup Team

Sailing is serious business, and no one takes it more seriously than Captain Woofly. The three-year-old dog is the skipper of the first all puppy America’s Cup team, which will compete in the venerable sailing competition later this summer in San Francisco.

The team, which is sponsored by Eukanuba dog food, is currently in California practicing.

“There is a set of unique challenges that this team will face that other teams can’t relate to,” explained sailing expert Chaz Wincombe. Namely, dogs don’t have opposable thumbs, so simple tasks like tying knots and raising a jib become very difficult.

“But Woofly is a very capable sailor,” said Wincombe. “Team Eukanuba will give Oracle and Artemis a run for their money.”
