Army Puppies Fed Up With Baked Beans

According to a spokesman for the group Military Dogs for Better Rations, puppies serving in the U.S. armed services are upset with the current quality of meals. “The dogs feel that given all they do for the country, they should at least get something with a good bone to chew on,” said Sgt. Alfred Stinson, a public relations officer working with the group.

The pups are planning a rally outside the U.S. Capitol building in April.

New York Plans to Privatize Cat Prisons

New York Plans to Privatize Cat Prisons

A plan currently up for vote in the New York State legislature would privatize the state’s two maximum security cat prisons.  The jails house some of the country’s most notorious feline criminals, including those brought up on serious federal charges such as fraud, interstate tuna smuggling, and racketeering.

Though the measure, which is seen as a cost-saving move, is expected to pass, there is some opposition.  "These kitties may be hardened criminals, but they’re people, too,“ said Rep. Owen Skagget, a democrat from Long Island.  "Studies show that private prisons are less safe for inmates, and I don’t think that’s a path we should be taking just to save a little kibble.”
