USPS Raises Rates for Domestic Doggy Mail

The Unites States Postal Service has announced a rate hike for domestic dog mailing services.  The new rate for shipping a 15 lbs. dog will be $11.25 or approximately 25 domestic stamps.  Anything over that weight will charged at $0.90/lbs.  The new rates will go into effect May 1.

“In order to raise the necessary funds to keep the USPS operating in FY2012, the price increase for domestic doggy mail is necessary,” said a press release issued from the office of Postmaster General, Patrick Donahoe.  Donahoe’s office declined to comment for this report.

Cat Dismissed from Job After Telling Lewd Joke

An area cat was dismissed from his job at a local tuna canning facility after apparently telling a lewd joke involving a dog, a priest and a rubber chicken (The Fluffington Post has decided not to print the contents of the joke).  "This is the third time he’s been written up by HR,“ said Hector Cesario, the cat’s union representative.  "There’s really nothing I can do for him at this point.”

Bunny Duo to Brave Elements for The Weather Channel Gig

A new duo of meteorologist bunnies, Hopper and Claude, will be braving extreme weather in a new gig for the The Weather Channel, starting this spring. The pair will be sent on assignment during severe storms, spelling the much overworked Jim Cantore and allowing him to report from a studio for at least part of the upcoming hurricane season.  The photo above is a still image taken from a demo reel the two Texas-natives apparently sent to The Weather Channel.  It was shot using a very large fan.

Glamorous Dog Signs Contract with Paul Mitchell

Hair care products giant Paul Mitchell has signed a 4-year contract with a rather chic looking Chinese crested, according to reports in Mairie Claire magazine. The dog had been unrepresented to this point, but after a stunning debut at Fashion Week in New York City in February, a number of major hair care products companies were competing for her services.  

The contract is reported to be worth $800,000 and will be paid partially in milkbones.
