In what geneticists are calling a “freakish marvel,” a 3-year-old cat named Badger has somehow developed the ability to shoot laser beams from his abdomen.

“In all my years as a scientist, I’ve never seen anything like this,” says Harold Chesney, a biologist at Northwestern University. “This is X-men territory right here.”
