Dog Finally Called for Penalty
Soccer fans love the way Wally the puppy plays the game, and coaches can’t get enough of his positive attitude and team leadership. But opposing players have long complained that he often gets away with carrying the ball when the refs aren’t looking.
“It’s not fair, you know?” said Tennessee Horned Toads fullback Seamus O’Rourke. “Wally’s a great player, but he never gets whistled.”
Until now, that is. Wally was called for a penalty during a game yesterday afternoon, drawing his first whistle for the surreptitious ball carrying all seasons. The opposing team was awarded a free kick.
