Dog Astounds Opera World With Puccini Aria
Opera fans and critics are abuzz after a recording by a golden retriever mix named Huck started spreading across the Internet.
“It’s a performance of ‘Nessun dorma,’ Puccini’s famous aria from the end of Turandot,” Opera Watcher columnist George Malin tells The Fluffington Post. “Only the world’s best tenors have what it takes to do it justice – Luciano Pavarotti defined the piece in the ’80s.”
After hearing Huck’s performance, a number of critics have come forward proclaiming this a turning point in the craft.
“I don’t say this lightly – I think Huck’s Puccini is better than Pavarotti’s,” says Malin. “That’s a big f***ing deal. I could get whacked for saying something like that.”
