Cat Apartment Building Now Has Wait List
Kitty Place, the new low-rise apartment building catering specifically to feline sensibilities that opened last month in the downtown arts district, already has a wait list.
According to the developer, the 65 unit building began leasing late last year and was nearly to capacity even before it opened. The last apartment went under contract over the weekend and a wait list has begun to fill up.
“There’s a huge demand for affordable, cat-sized housing in downtown,” said project manager Muriel Casbo. “Kitty Place has all the amenities a cat could want: 24-hour concierge, communal napping rooms, scratchable walls, a sun spot in every apartment.”
A planned high-rise condominium project, Feline Towers, lost funding during the housing market collapse of 2008, but the success of Kitty Place may put it back on track.
