Cat Emerges From Year in Isolation Tube
Cat scientist Milo emerged today from a tube-shaped isolation pod after spending nearly 12 months locked inside. Milo lived in the tube as part of an experiment by NASA to see how cats react to living alone for extended periods of time.
“This type of data is crucial for any cat-led missions to Mars or the outer solar system,” said NASA researcher Chet Verbinski. "Milo did very well living in the tube. He mostly slept and played with his feather on a string. I don’t think he really noticed that he was alone.“
NASA hopes to send cats to Mars by 2017.
