Area Cat Is Obsessed with ‘Serial’ Podcast

If it’s a Thursday morning, you’ll likely find Leo the cat in his usual spot – curled up next to his laptop, taking in the latest episode of “Serial.”

The weekly podcast has become a sensation in recent months, with listeners like Leo dissecting every last detail of its true-crime story. 

“Oh, he’s totally hooked,” says friend Blake O’Neill. “He’s listened to each episode at least ten times. He’s got a timeline of the case and a map with pushpins in the areas of interest. It’s pretty crazy.”

Leo has even managed to convert a few stragglers. 

“Yeah, I’ve been listening to it,” says O’Neill. “How can you not? You’ve got all these questions – did he do it? Was it his friend? What about that phone call? And of course you have to consider the possibility of an unreliable narrator… oh man – see what that cat’s done to me?”
