Kitty Lineup Fails to Identify Suspect

It was a routine procedure – but it had never been done with cats.

“We got the call late last Thursday,” said Detective Dan Houser of the Topeka Police Department. “A woman was in her home and a cat just came in and started knocking things over. Naturally, she was terrified. We brought her in and did a police lineup.”

To fill the feline rogues gallery, a collection of kitty ne’er-do-wells was corralled – along with the actual suspect.

“It didn’t help at all,” says houser. “As it turns out, cats all look more or less alike. After a while, we had to let them all go.”

Despite the setback, the TPD is confident they’ll get their cat.

“We’re going to do a sting operation,” says Houser. “I can’t say much, but it involves a big plate of tuna. Actually, that’s basically all it is.”
