REPORT: Kittens Love Windows 8 Touchscreen
Though sales of Windows 8 have been generally sluggish, the operating system has found a home amongst one user group: kittens.
According to a study released today from the NPD Group, cats are especially taken with the operating system’s focus on touch. Windows 8 makes up a majority of laptop sales to cats.
“Cat’s have historically had trouble operating the keyboard,” said NPD researcher Chad Mills. “They didn’t really get into computing wholesale until the iPad was released, but there still wasn’t a desktop suited to a touch interface that made sense for them. Windows 8 changed all that.”
Windows 8 computers have been selling fast among felines. The Best Buy in Levittown, NY reports that all laptop sales to cats this year have been Windows 8 machines.
“But to be fair, that’s like two computers total. Cats don’t shop here very much,” said store manager Selma Shiffley, which is surprising, because Petco is right next door.
