Sleepy Cat Inspires New Martial Arts Style
by Anna Washenko, FluffPo Correspondent
A new school of martial arts dubbed “Napping Master” is sweeping the nation. The fighting style is said to harnesses the power of sleep, and many of its signature moves tap into both the involuntary twitching from a dream state and the slow movements of rolling around during slumber.
“It’s an offshoot of the Drunken Master ideology,” said originator Rick Chang explained. “The inspiration came from my cat, Ginger. I’d try to pet him when he was dozing, and he’d punch me away with his paws.”
From that first feline sparring match, Chang has introduced the style to the competitive circle. He said that while Ginger is the originator of the school, he’s too lazy to undergo formal training.
“Cats have a natural talent for this style,” he said. “It’s actually really hard for humans to learn. But I have yet to find a kitty I could teach.”
