‘The Hunger Games’ Still Dominates NY Times Cat Seller List
Despite the meteoric rise of the novel Fifty Shades of Grey, the post-apocalyptic teen parable The Hunger Games remains at the top of the New York Times Cat Sellers list for the 10th week in a row.
“Most cats are not looking for the newest, hottest titles,” says Edith Warring, an editor at HarperCollins. “They want to take their time and enjoy what the rest of the world was reading months ago.”
While most readers have moved on from The Hunger Games phenomenon, trends indicate cats are clinging.
“Also, they’re really slow readers,” explains Warring. “They finish one book a year if they’re lucky.”
