Cat Spends Hours Trying to Decipher DMV Forms
What’s the only thing more frustrating for a cat than not being able to catch the little red laser pointer dot? Trying to apply for a driver’s license in Oregon.
A cat in Aurora, OR reportedly spent over three hours yesterday trying to figure out how to fill out the myriad forms required by the Department of Motor Vehicles just to apply to take the test for a learner’s permit. Her friends think that’s crazy.
“There’s no reason it should be this hard for a cat to get a license to drive a car,” said Tricia Baptiste, a close friend of the kitty. “This is 2013. Why isn’t this stuff online? Why aren’t these forms more user friendly? It’s just terrible.”
Other friends agree.
“She can go outside and hunt birds without a license,” said Gregory Reichard, “but to drive a car she has to fill out 20 pages of forms. In triplicate! Complete insanity.”
According to friends, the cat eventually gave up and chased a piece of string for the rest of the day. Once she wakes up from her nap, she may try to tackle the application again. Or she may just play with the pen. Hard to say, really.
