Cat Culinary Prodigy Is a Whiz in the Kitchen

Yuma the cat may only have paws, but she is a culinary wunderkind.  Though only 4 years old, the talented feline has already been shortlisted for a James Beard Rising Star award and has apprenticed at some of the best restaurants in both Europe and America.

“She’s incredible,” said Alistair Gross, Chef de cuisine at Savoureux in New York City, where Yuma spent last summer as an apprentice saucier.  "Sure the Béchamel sometimes had a little fur in it, but she could do things with an immersion blender that take most chefs years to master.“

Yuma’s goal is to open a Michelin starred restaurant in her hometown of Boston, where there are currently no eateries thus rated.
