Cat Questioned in Connection With Catnip Bust
By Jennifer Uhlich, FluffPo Special Correspondent
Sir Henry Shackleton, a self-described “global explorer” who recently settled in Northern California, was held for questioning Monday after police raided a massive catnip den directly across the street from his residence.
“We found evidence he may be connected to this illicit operation,” says detective Roger McAward. “He’s a kitty of interest in our ongoing investigation.”
Neighbors describe Shackleton as “a colorful character with a good heart,” and expressed disbelief that he could be involved in criminal activity. "He may have lived a pretty wild life before now, but he’s never caused any trouble in this neighborhood,“ says Michelle Gelmann.
Randy Miller, another neighbor, did recall seeing Henry looking glassy-eyed and covered with green flakes on several occasions, but said, "I thought it was just a cat thing.”
