REPORT: 70% of Cat Architecture Does Not Meet Code
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development released a report Tuesday that finds a whopping 70% of cat-built homes and office complexes are not up to Federal safety codes.
The news has rattled the cat contractor industry, which is still recovering from the housing crisis of 2008.
“This kind of fear mongering will only kill jobs,” says Orlando Seawell, attorney for the Feline Contractors Union. “It’s classic government overreach.”
But the USDH views it as a serious safety issue. “We’re talking about really shoddy work here,” says Melinda Caster, the Department’s press liaison. “Townhouses made of cardboard? They wouldn’t survive a brisk wind, let alone an earthquake.”
