‘Ridiculously Photogenic Gerbil’ Embraced by Internet

‘Ridiculously Photogenic Gerbil’ Embraced by Internet

Despite running a rigorous obstacle course, Winston the gerbil hadn’t even broken a sweat when he was photographed by a friend, mid-scamper.

“He looked fantastic,” said Mary Wells, who snapped the pic. “Very poised indeed.”

It didn’t take long for the Internet to get a hold of the image, and Winston quickly became known as the “Ridiculously Photogenic Gerbil” – a riff on the “Ridiculously Photogenic Guy” meme that took the web by storm in April.

Good Morning America has already booked the British rodent/heartthrob for tomorrow’s show.

Distinguished GentlePug Makes Scene at Company Picnic

An affluent pug named Moose (of the Newport Mooses) has been accused of harassment and general misconduct during a recent corporate retreat.

“He was walking funny, slobbering on everyone,” says Fran Miller, an employee of CalStar, the boat insurance firm that held the picnic. “I’m not sure if he was drunk, but he was definitely acting inappropriately.”

Attorneys for Moose, who is a senior vice president at CalStar, maintain that his friendliness might have been misconstrued, but there was certainly no wrongdoing. The pug himself could not be reached for comment.

Buried Treasure Cats Found Near San Diego

Two chests containing rare kitties were discovered just outside a San Diego, CA suburb on Tuesday.

“I was just wandering along with my cat detector,” says Huey Charles, a creepy unemployed guy who searches for buried cats every morning. “It started beeping, so I started digging!”

Local historians descended on the dig soon after, and most agree the cats date back to the mid 1800s.

“If they’re pre-Civil War, the pair is likely worth millions,” say Jonathan Gold of the San Diego Cat Heritage Museum. “If they date to 1866 or later, they’re much more common, but they’d still do well at auction.”

SURVEY: 86% of Americans Think Cats Are Weirdos

The latest Pew Research survey finds that a whopping 86% of American adults think cats are strange.

“We found most people are disturbed by their odd sense of comfort,” explains Linda Cornish, who led the study. “Cats squeeze into tiny containers or sleep in an upside-down ball and still seem as snug as ever. What’s up with that?”
