Dog Bears Striking Resemblance to Richard Gere

Visitors to the Assisi Animal Sanctuary in Northern Ireland have been swooning over a dog named Scamper, whose dark, piercing eyes and “come hither” smirk bear a notable resemblance to actor Richard Gere.

“Scamper is very affectionate and quiet,” says Diane Boland, a source close to the situation. We can only imagine these qualities embody Mr. Gere as well.

 "He’s looking for a new home,“ says Boland. "Can you help this Officer and a Gentleman find his Pretty Woman?”

Fear after misspelling “meow” and “purr” has left little McClane the cat frightened by social media and digital correspondence. But the New Year has him in high spirits.

“All he wanted to do was reach the keyboard, where he hoped to stop me from typing,” said Kat George, a friend of the kitty. “McClane is a wily and resourceful foe.”

McClane’s determination to type well led Ms. George to buy a keyboard protector that doubles as a scratching pad.

Capybara’s Gourmet YouTube Videos Lead to TV Deal

Dobbye, a capybara from Seattle, WA, is already renowned for his charming cooking videos on YouTube, which feature simple, fresh ingredients and easy preparation instructions. 

His show has just been picked up by The Food Network, and will focus on recipes for rodents of unusual size. Dobbye’s dishes utilize simple ingredients like apples, romaine lettuce and corn cobs, and are always quick to prepare – for example, just chomp an apple whole and leave the remainder on the ground.

Dobbye’s cooking is also known for unique seasonings that can easily be found without thumbs. The show is expected to air this coming fall on Tuesday evenings, possibly as a lead-in to Paula Deen.

Cat Uses Fake Glasses to Snooze In Class

To say that Alaska, a cat from Worcester, MA, is bored in his Intro to Psych class is an understatement.

“He can barely stay awake,” says fellow classmate Chip Dixon. “He’s nodded off a few times and the professor gets mad.”

Fortunately, Alaska’s found an elegant solution.

“He glued two googly eyes to a pair of cardboard glasses,” says Dixon. “He can take as many cat naps as he likes, and no one will be the wiser.”

Kitten Defiant After Loitering Arrest

Gresham, OR – A local kitten picked up as part of a recent police crackdown on the Tuna4Lyfe gang has remained defiant, refusing to speak to investigators even as she remains behind bars. Since the kitten is a juvenile, her name cannot be released to the press, but her street name is rumored to be Tigger. 

The kitten is facing preliminary charges of loitering, catnip possession, and vandalism, but is also rumored to have hissed at, scratched and even bitten investigators. If charges are pressed for these incidents, she could be tried as an adult cat.
