Dog and Chinchilla Form Fast Friendship After Valentine’s Party

It didn’t take long for Maggie (left) and Charlie (right) to realize they had a lot in common. Both are fluffy, both live in New York, both are pretty cute (if they do say so themselves), and both own every album by ’90s alt-rock band Better Than Ezra.

After being introduced by a mutual friend at a Valentine’s Day party, the two have been texting furiously, and there are rumors of a date night on the horizon.

Hamster Obesity Reaches Epidemic Proportions

New numbers from the Department of Health shed light on the serious issue of hamster obesity in the U.S.

Nearly 35% of all hamsters in the country are now clinically obese – up from 27% reported last spring. The DoH attributes the spike to the sudden popularity of deep fried seeds.

Many wonder why no one thought of deep fried seeds years ago. They are “f**king delicious,” according to experts.

A prairie dog in the affluent village of Comrie, Scotland is reportedly very protective of his property. He is often seen chasing kids off his front yard.  Said one neighbor, “He’s kind of a jerk, and really weird about his lawn. Oh, and he does all his weeding in the middle of the night, which is just strange.”

Mysterious Purple Squirrel Confuses Pennsylvania, Gains Facebook Fame

Connie and Percy Emert of central Pennsylvania used peanuts to lure a strange purple squirrel into a cage on Sunday for closer observation. While many theories abound as to what might have caused the mysterious pigmentation, the squirrel was released before the Pennsylvania Game Commission could conduct a thorough investigation.

On the bright side, photos of the plum-colored that hit the web quickly launched him to Facebook star status. His fan page currently has over 8,500 likes.
