Hong Kong socialite Mindy Wu is no slouch when it comes to her shoe collection. With a closet valued at nearly $750,000, it requires round-the-clock protection.
“We’ve contracted a cat named Horlick to keep an eye on things in there,” says Wu’s estate manager Tom Luo. “He’s got a lot of experience in private security, so we’re pretty confident about the hire.”

Cat Hires Sub-Contractors to Finish Big Job
After a week of slow progress on a shelf-hanging gig, local handycat Larry has hired two subcontractors to lock up the job so he can move on to other clients.
“He’s really nit-picky though,” says Adam Stone, one of the hired hands. “He basically second-guesses everything I’m doing. It would probably be faster if he just did it himself.”

Tiger Cubs Chip in For New Bubble Machine
Not content to wait until Christmas, Amur tiger cubs Jake and Lucy have pooled their allowance and crossed a big ticket item off their wish list: a bubble machine.
“They play with it about 8-10 hours a day,” says Nelson Breiner, a source close to the situation. “You’d think popping bubbles with your whiskers would get old after a few days. Nope.”

After nearly three weeks without incident, renegade photobomber Rusty flew into frame just as the shutter came down on Abbey’s new head shot.
“We were just trying to get some good portraits that Abbey could take on her auditions,” says photographer Jenny Chow. “Rusty just came out of nowhere and ruined the whole thing.”

California Cat Climbs Trees for Charity
Los Angeles-based social entrepreneur kitty Vance has combined her love of tree climbing with a charitable initiative.
“She’s raised $385 in one week for California public schools,” says Terry McConnel, a spokesperson for Trees Please, Vance’s new non-profit. “People just love watching her climb up there. They’re willing to sponsor a good cause.”
