BREAKING: Dog / Reindeer Crossbreed Discovered
Researchers at the University of Fairbanks in Alaska are set to hold a press conference this afternoon to announce the discovery of a new breed of animal. The animal is a furry mammal and appears to be a cross between a reindeer and a golden retriever.
The school’s department of biology and wildlife studies released a photo of the dog / deer this morning, but details about the discovery have been sparse.
The Fluffington Post will be at the press conference this afternoon and will update this post with relevant details as they emerge.
Update: The university has called off the press conference and is now saying that what they “discovered” turned out to be a regular golden retriever wearing stuffed “puppy antlers.” It is unclear at this time if this was a genuine mistake, a holiday prank or something else.

Local Pug Ready for Picnic
An area pug named Harriet is reportedly all ready for a picnic, but she may have to wait awhile.
“Look, it’s adorable that she got out the wicker basket and she’s super cute sitting inside,” said roommate Lizzy Tempkins, who conceded that the dog’s salmon en croute is “to die for.” “But it’s just not picnic weather.”
The average high this week in Boston, MA where Harriet lives is just over 32° F, with snow in the forecast. Tempkins said she may entertain the idea of a picnic in April or May, depending on the weather, but not now with winter almost upon us.
“She can keep upping the cute level all she wants,” said Tempkins, “but this is New England, and we eat indoors in December.”
