Puppy Really Wanted That Last Piece a Pie
By Anna Washenko, FluffPo Correspondent
Astor, a black lab from Brooklyn with a flair for baking, brought a strawberry rhubarb pie to her friends’ Labor Day picnic on Long Island. The afternoon was a great success, but after the meal, Astor got wrapped up in a game of frisbee and never got a chance to taste the fruit of her labors.
After a thorough investigation, sources revealed that Jackson Jefferson ate the last slice before Astor had a chance to call dibs. The eight-year-old had already enjoyed a first slice when he chose to gobble up the final piece, but claimed that he didn’t mean to deprive the lab of his dessert.
“I asked twice if everybody had had some pie,” Jefferson said in his defense. “It’s not my fault if Astor didn’t hear me!”
Astor did not comment on his hurt feelings, but did stare mournfully at Jefferson for the remainder of the picnic.

Dog Has First Driving Lesson
by Scott Friedstein, FluffPo Correspondent
Ripley is what you’d call an “intelligent” dog.
“He started learning things very quickly,” says Ryan Moore, Ripley’s owner. “Even as a puppy, you could tell he was smarter than most dogs. It only made sense to teach him how to drive.”
Though the pup’s size presented some practical challenges, he at least managed to cover the steering portion during his inaugural driving lesson last weekend.
“He was a bit jerky around the turns, but it wasn’t any worse than you’d expect from a dog,” says Moore. “Next week we’re going to try parallel parking.”

Puppy Prepares for Fluffiness Pageant
By Anna Washenko, FluffPo Correspondent
Dolly has been a pageant pup , and this year she is preparing for the biggest one of them all. Last weekend, she competed in the Northeast Junior Fluffiness Pageant qualifier. The dog, along with the three other finalists, was selected to move on to the American Junior Fluffiness Pageant, which will be held in Miami in October.
Pageant coach Chauncey Fitzmartin spoke with The Fluffington Post about Dolly’s quick rise to stardom.
“She’s got the perfect blend of all-American heart with just a touch of sophisticated je ne sais quoi,” he said. “Plus, when the spotlight hits her just right, her fur looks like a halo. The judges just die.”
Fitzmartin said that his protégé would not be making any major revisions to her performance prior to her debut on the national stage.
“So many ladies burn out too fast,” he said. “She’s still in Juniors’, so the goal is just to have a good experience and have fun.”
Dolly has one more year to compete at the junior division. Fitzmartin said that she has no plans to abandon pageantry as she matures. “She’s got the makings of a champion, no doubt. She’ll be a Miss Fluffy before her career is over, maybe even Miss Fluffy World. Who knows? The world is her chew toy.”

‘Dog Baywatch’ Announced
by Scott Friedstein, FluffPo Correspondent
Baywatch was one of the most popular TV programs of the 1990’s – and now, it’s coming back. The NBC network has just announced a reboot of the classic series slated for its fall season, with an all-new cast.
“We decided to do dogs this time,” says Bob Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment. “Our focus groups reacted positively to the idea. People tend to like things with dogs better than things without them. It’s science.”
Leading the cast is canine newcomer Boomer as hunky lifeguard Pooch Buchannon.
“Boomer is going to be a big star,” says Greenblatt. “His slow-motion beach shots were some of the best we’ve ever seen.”
Dog Baywatch will premiere in primetime in mid-September, alongside Paw and Order and Cheers With Cats.
