Cats Get the Winter Blues, Too

Does your cat have less energy in the cold months? Does she loaf around in a haze with little motivation?

She’s not alone. A growing number of veterinarians are diagnosing cases of Feline Seasonal Affective Disorder (F-SAD).

Cordelia, a 12-year-old kitty from Salt Lake City, UT (pictured above), just can’t help but feel that February totally sucks.

Confused Puppy Thinks She’s a Hamster

Gracie, a puppy from Long Island, NY, is going through a phase.

After watching one episode of The Real Hamsters of Peoria on Animal Planet, she has begun imitating the stars’ behavior and claiming that she is, in fact, a hamster herself. Gracie’s been sipping from a water drip and storing seeds in her cheeks for days.

“This sort of emulation is common in young dogs,” says Charlene Fogel, a noted puppy psychologist. “Sometimes they want to be Spider-man, sometimes they want to be kitty cats. Hamster is an odd choice, but she’ll likely grow out of it.”

Manhattan Puppy Faces Mid-Life Crisis at a Young Age

Zeus, an English Bulldog from New York City, had an easy life. Wake up, waddle around a bit, take a nap – it was every dog’s dream.

That is until he started confronting the tough questions: What’s he going to do with his life? Would he be able to make any meaningful and lasting contributions to society?

While his psychologist warned that entertaining a “mid-life crisis” at such a young age is unhealthy, Zeus insisted on taking Salsa lessons and reading everything he can about Gothic architecture – one of his many unexplored passions.

Labrador Retrievers Are Replacing American Workers in Droves

February 12, 2012 · Leave a Comment

A new report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics finds that a growing number of employers are cutting costs by hiring Labrador Retrievers instead of humans for administrative jobs.

The cost/benefit gains on Retriever labor are apparent: They work for kibble, they don’t complain, and they rarely insist on matching 401k contributions.
