Local Dog Jumps from Plane for Charity

A local dog named Hettie jumped from a plane this afternoon to raise money and awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project.  

The pup, a lifelong baseball fan and unfailing patriot, got the idea for the jump after watching New York Yankees GM Brian Cashman skydive to raise awareness for the group a couple of weeks ago. 

“She saw Brian do it and immediately insisted on doing it too,” said longtime friend Deborah Dennick. “She wasn’t afraid, even after she learned that Cashman had broken his ankle – her only goal was to raise awareness for such a worth cause.”

Hettie’s jump was successful and, unlike the Yankees general manager, did not result in any broken bones.

REPORT: Cat Regrets Finger Lick

An area cat named Jenny is being treated this afternoon for a mild case of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder after licking a wayward finger earlier today.

According to sources on the scene, the kitten licked a finger that was held out to her and then immediately regretted the decision.

“Well, the finger was attached to a hand that had been chopping onions and garlic, so it was a little pungent,” said Karen Regan, a source close to the situation. “After Jenny licked it, she made a funny face and then realized her mistake and started to hyperventilate. We rushed he to the hospital.”

Hospital officials tell The Fluffington Post that the cat is resting easy and will be discharged tomorrow.

Bunny Thinks He’s Snoopy

According to sources close to the situation, a local bunny name Manny has come to believe that he is legendary cartoon dog Snoopy.

“He just won’t go into his bunny house,” said Angela Chemick, a friend of the rabbit. “Manny spends most of his day sitting or sleeping on top of his house. Sometimes he also pretends he is a World War II fighter pilot.”

Chemick says it hasn’t been a big problem yet, though it is a bit weird. But she worries that with rain in the forecast for this week, Manny could be in for some rough days and nights.
