Sleep Researchers Determine that Cat Naps Are the Most Restful
By Anna Washenko, FluffPo Correspondent
Despite the recent hype about coffee naps, sleep researchers from the University of Wisconsin have found that the best way to snooze is a cat nap. The team found that their feline test subject, a cat named Wookie, was the best rested and most relaxed of all participants, easily besting their human, badger, marmoset, hummingbird and manatee subjects.
“Wookie’s sleeping habits have been of interest in the field for quite some time,” lead investigator Angela Fanness said. “We wanted to take the time to really delve deep into the duration and frequency of his cat naps, and see how they impact his well-being.”
Fanness explained that the study confirmed long-held suspicions about the benefits of cat napping.
“We found a direct correlation between minutes spent cat napping and happiness,” she said. “Wookie spent the most time sleeping. The naps did have a slightly adverse impact on his weight, but that was the only negative response he had.”
Results were published in the peer-reviewed journal, Scientific Sleep.

Dog Ready for Disney World
by Scott Friedstein, FluffPo Correspondent
Tucker is headed to the most magical place on earth.
After a full summer of being a good boy, the border collie is finally getting the dream vacation he was promised – a weeklong trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL.
“He’s been asking about it literally every day,” says owner Chelsea Gordon. “Of course, we held out. A border collie’s intuition is strong, but their sense of reward is far greater.”
Upon his arrival, Tucker is expected to enjoy the park’s many exciting rides.
“He’s probably going to ride the teacups first,” says Gordon. “Then Splash Mountain. And the Tower of Terror. And of course Space Mountain. It should be a great time – if we can keep up with him.”
