NYC Rent Increases Cause Kittens to Live 6 to a Loft

New York City: Perpetual rent increases are nothing new to humans, but the latest increases in rent – averaging 3.3% a month – have led even kittens to crowd into lofts in trendy areas. Entire litters of kittens are moving into desirable baskets in close proximity to food dishes, televisions, TV guides and fireplaces. 

Jennifer Walton, a Brooklyn-based real estate broker, said “It’s unfortunate that rent increases for cats have increased so rapidly, but with the explosive growth of trendy areas, the down payment needed for a cat condo, most post-weaning kittens have no other choice but to crowd into a loft and use each other to keep warm." 

Walton continued: "I do have some great properties to show this week, right near some exciting cat nightlife spots, such as a basket of clean laundry and the kitchen counters next to a glass of water.” All kittens with good credit and who are up-to-date on vaccines are encouraged to contact Walton for their New York City rental needs.

Morristown, NJ – Murphy, a 9-week-old basset hound, is already dreading Valentine’s Day, even though it’s a month away. Sources close to the situation have described how he balefully glances at the holiday-themed store displays and jewelry commercials. He has also been listening to romantic songs on repeat, howling along with great sadness

In fact, the mere mention of the holiday causes Murphy to droop and drool with what can only be described as despair.

A source close to the situation said, “His neutering appointment is already scheduled for February 13th, so I don’t know why Valentine’s Day is so important to him. I’m starting to think he’s just a naturally sad dog.”

Kitten Vies for Spot on ‘America’s Next Top Model’

HAGERSTOWN, MD – Lexi, a kitten from Hagerstown, is determined to make it to the next cycle of America’s Next Top Model. Sources say that as a kitten, Lexi believes she has an “edge” similar to past contestants, and is ready to break new ground as the first feline contestant. Lexi has been heavily influenced by Tyra Banks herself, as seen in the portfolio she assembled for the open-call audition. 

Annika Helms, a source close to the situation, says that “As a cat, Lexi was born pretty fierce, but Tyra has really influenced her posture and cat-walk. But I do think she’s better at cat-ure modeling than commercial.”
