Area Cat Blindsided by ‘Empire Strikes Back’ Reveal

Mitzy the cat couldn’t wait to pop in the VHS copy of The Empire Strikes Back she had just bought. New to the Star Wars franchise, she had enjoyed A New Hope immensely and was now ready to watch the second installment. It would be safe to say she was rather unprepared for the now-legendary plot twist that awaited her.
“She just could not believe it,” says Dan Marvin, a friend of the cat. “I mean, everybody knows by now that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker’s father. But Mitzy’s a little behind the curve."
After spending "a good half hour” pacing back and forth, Mitzy finally was able to resume watching.
“She had to collect herself a bit,” says Marvin. “I was like, ‘you know this movie came out thirty two years ago, right?’ It didn’t matter.”
