Maryland Cat Is Ready for New Year’s Eve
Isabella, a 4-year-old Maine Coon from Maryland, is anxiously waiting for the sun to set on 2012.
“It’s been a tough year for her, what with losing her catnip ball and getting her yarn all tangled,” says Todd Feldman, a source close to the situation. “She’s really excited for the new year. She’s been wearing a tiara all week, waiting for the ball to drop.”

Area Pup Becomes First Licensed Canine Masseuse
History was made on Friday when a local Chihuahua puppy named Roger became the first licensed canine masseuse in the United States. After two years of coursework and 500 hours of paws-on practice and apprenticeship, the talented puppy was awarded a license from the State Board of Health.
“He’s ecstatic,” said Alice Lumley, one of Roger’s teachers at the Suncoast Academy of Massage Therapy, where he completed his coursework. “He was one of our best pupils and really deserves this.”
Roger’s clients confirm the high praise given to him by his professors. "Oh, that dog has magic paws,“ said one client, who wished to remain anonymous. "He’s got me as a client for life.”

Puppy to Give Free Hugs in 2013
According to his publicist, Alfie, a Jack Russell Terrier from Utica, NY, has decided to offer free hugs to all takers in 2013.
“Next year, Alfie will begin giving out up to 25 hugs each day on a first come, first served basis,” said Jane McDuggan, of the William Morris Agency, which represents the puppy. "Hugs will be given free of charge and may not last more than a half minute each.“
When asked why Alfie plans to give out hugs in the coming year, McDuggan explained that he just wanted to make the world a happier place.
