Sources: Area Cat Is Prepared for Winter
According to multiple sources familiar with the situation, a local cat named Skittles is fully prepared to endure the winter of 2013-2014, and it’s only September.
“She doesn’t mess around,” says Hubert McKensey, Skittles’ longtime neighbor. “The slightest hint of fall weather sends her rushing to the attic to break out the Gore-Tex. She hates being cold, even a little bit.”
At present, Skittles is bundled up in about 13 layers of comforters, but that’s just the beginning, according to Callie Baumbach, a friend. “Expect at least four sweaters and a heat fan by mid-October.”

Pomeranian Shakes Up Fashion World
As London Fashion Week wraps up there is one name on everyone’s lips: Marni. The Pomeranian puppy and her eponymous company shocked the fashion world this week by putting on an envelope-pushing show of avant-garde dog accessories.
“#ToDieFor,” said Patrice Favreux, the style editor for French Vogue, in a tweet about the Marni show. “Puppies everywhere are going to want this. Mark my words.”
According to a spokesperson for Marni, the brand has already sold out of its fall line, with much of the stock going to auction.
“That’s unheard of for a rookie label,” said Q. Raimi, a puppy fashion blogger. “This dog has something special. No doubt about it.”

Kitten Opera Sells Out Carnegie Hall
Is opera coming back in style among the masses? That’s what the investors in Catoletto, a completely feline production of Verdi’s Rigoletto are hoping. And if early returns are any indication, they might be right.
The all cat opera has already sold out of previews and tickets are selling fast ahead of the show’s run at Carnegie Hall in New York later this month.
The opera stars Teddy, a baritone kitten, as the lead. Legendary cat opera singer Gizmo was originally cast in the role, but he had to pull out last week due to a nagging hairball issue.
“It’s great to see people supporting opera,” said Carnegie Hall spokesperson Tim Randolf. “Catoletto is a very accessible adaptation, and also super cute.”
