Puppy Ready for World Cup

Shogun, a bulldog pup from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is extremely excited for the World Cup. While there are serious questions about whether Rio will be prepared for the 3.5 million soccer fans who will descend on the city next month, Shogun, at least, is ready. 

“That dog was born ready,” said close friend Thaís Melo. “He loves football and this will be the proudest moment of his life.”

Melo says the dog has been playing soccer ever since he was a puppy and just recently made the under 14 national team (he’s two in human years). His team is being invited onto the pitch for pre-game ceremony before a first round game next month.

“He’s so excited, I think he might pee a little,” said Melo. “But I mean, he’s a dog, so that’s normal.”

‘Dance Cats’ Is Latest Lifetime Reality Series

The Lifetime television network has placed a 10-episode order for Dance Cats, a new reality series that will debut this fall in the 10pm ET time slot on Wednesday nights.

The series follows the Land On Your Feet Dance Studio in Atlanta, GA, an all-feline dance studio that specializes in ballet. The show will follow a class of advanced, but young, kitten dancers as they train to put on a performance of a modern interpretation of ‘Swan Lake.’

“These kitties are sassy,” said Lifetime VP of Reality Content Jane Horschek. “But most importantly, they can really dance.”

Horschek also confirmed that the channel is planning an online digital tie-in, though would not get into specifics.

Neighbors Complain About Hamster House

Police have responded to noise complaints at the home of one JC the hamster seven times in the past two weeks and have issued him four citations for disturbing the piece.

Other residents of Baker Street, where the hamster resides, describe the small rodent as easy going.

“He was never a problem until these past couple of weeks,” said one neighbor, Alan Fleischmann. “I know he’s a hamster, but he was always quiet as a mouse.”

Then JC got a wheel.

“That damn wheel,” said Mary Blevins, who lives next door. “He’s always on that goddamn wheel. Squeak, squeak, squeak. It never stops.”

Police indicated that JC has agreed to try WD-40, but if that doesn’t work, they’ll be forced to confiscate the wheel.
