Puppy Longshoreman Fired on First Day
by Scott Friedstein, FluffPo Correspondent
Bo just wanted a job on the high seas.
The aspiring longshoreman and puppy had answered a local ad looking for part-time dock help. The pay was meager, but the promise of adventure was too great to resist.
“He thought he’d actually be working on the ships,” says Ray Folger, Bo’s co-worker of one day. “I had to explain to him that he’d just be loading stuff and making sure the ships don’t float away. He got the first part down alright.”
The second part proved more difficult. Bo had been on the job only an hour when the cargo ship assigned to him started drifting out to sea.
“That’s when the boss showed up,” says Folger. “Needless to say, he was pretty mad. Bo tried swimming out to get it, but it was too little too late.”
At press time, the newly unemployed pup was said to be applying for other positions, including zookeeper and mall security guard.
