Dogs Deemed Unsafe Replacement for Airbags

An initiative by the R&D arm of Ford Motor Company to investigate the viability of using puppies in place of airbags in motor vehicles has been canceled.

“Our initial though was that, hey, puppies are really soft so they might be used in lieu of air bags in SUVs and light trucks,” said Ford spokesman Randy Orchandt.  "But after looking into it, we’ve found that, no, puppies are actually much less effective at preventing injury, and also very distracting to drivers.“
