Experts: Do Not Let a Dog Do Your Taxes
Yes, dog accountants are cheaper, but according to tax experts, they also make more mistakes. Those are the results of a new study from the American Institute of CPAs, which compared anonymized, audited tax returns from over 100 canine accountants with an equal number from H&R Block. The data showed that dog accountants made three times more mistakes than their human counterparts and left an average $587 in potential refunds on the table.
So as April 15 nears, remember: puppy CPAs may be adorable, but they also might not be the best choice to file your tax return this year.
