Puppy Tricks Local Media With Lion Costume
The media in Muncie, IN sure has egg on its collective face this morning. At least two local newspapers, including the Ball State Daily News, published stories about a supposed new edition to the local zoo: a lion named Herbert. RTV6, an ABC affiliate out of Indianapolis, reportedly filmed and cut a segment on Herbert, but killed it moments before airtime.
Of course, there are two major issues with the Herbert story:
1. There is no zoo in Muncie (there was a privately-owned zoo in nearby Parker City, but it closed in 2009),
and
2. Herbert isn’t a lion at all. Herbert is actually Willie, a Pomeranian puppy wearing a lion costume who held a fake press conference to present his fabricated story.
Consider this the most adorable media prank of all time.
