Duckling Refuses to Reciprocate High-Fives
Area residents were miffed on Tuesday when their offers to high-five a baby duck were coldly rebuffed.
“People tried high-fives, low-fives, medium-fives,” says Cam Stokes, who offered his hand to the duckling more than once. “It’s just rude, is what it is.”

After facing layoffs in the construction industry, Poe and Dani decided to pool their savings and open a restaurant in the neighborhood.
“It’s been their lifelong dream,” says Darren Stang, a close friend. “Neither has management experience. They couldn’t cook a bowl of pasta to save their lives. And they’re pretty bad with money. But, I think they’ve got a shot.”
The family restaurant, called Pigglebee’s, will open its doors the public this fall.

Cha Cha Slide Disaster Claims Kitten
A local kitten is in serious condition this morning after a freak accident while attempting to perform the “Cha Cha Slide” with friends.
“We expect he’ll make a full recovery,” said Dr. Aaron Greenblat of Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, where the cat is being treated. "It was just one of those things. He went right when he was supposed to go left. He went forward when he was supposed to take it back, and all of a sudden he was just completely tangled.“
This is the third such incident related to the popular DJ Casper song in the past month.
