Dog Writes Letter to Town About Spelling Error
If there’s one thing that Skip, a local Chihuahua pup, can’t stand, it’s spelling errors. That’s why the dog was incensed when he visited the local community pool and found a sign asking patrons to please take off their “shose.”
“Not only did they spell ‘shoes’ wrong, Skip doesn’t even wear shoes,” said friend Gordon Miller. “So the sign was wrong and irrelevant. Of course he wrote a strongly-worded letter to the town about it.”

Kitten Gets High Marks on School Report Card
Mallory the kitten made her parents proud this week when she brought home a glowing mid-term report card from school. She had high marks in every subject – Scratching Post Destruction 205, Napping 301, Introduction to Aloofness, Finding the Best Sun Spots (independent study), and Topics in Sitting in Boxes and Bags. Her teachers gushed about her.
“Mallory is a pleasure to have in class,” said her napping professor, Mrs. Banks. “She’s courteous, she always comes to class on time, and she’s usually the first student to conk out.”

Kitty and Puppy Bond Over ‘The Walking Dead’
According to notable science journal, BuzzFeed, interspecies relationships abound in the animal kingdom. Rarely, however, do scientists get any insight into what exactly forges those unlikely bonds.
But at a house in Asheville, NC, biologists are getting a unique inside view as a relationship between a dog and a cat unfolds before their eyes.
“The two started watching TV last year,” says house resident Kevin Giff. “At first they would fight about what to watch. Sparky, the dog, wanted to mostly watch football, basketball, baseball – anything with a ball, really. But Tofu, the cat, only wanted to watch old episodes of Duck Tales.”
What brought them together? AMC’s The Walking Dead.
“I don’t know what it is about that show, but since they started watching it together, they’re the best of friends,” reports Giff.

Local Dog Places Third in 5K
Jelly Roll, an Alaskan Husky-Pointer mix from Brighton, UK placed third in a 5K race this morning. The dog beat out a number of notable competitors, including last year’s champion, a Weimaraner from Chelmsford.
“This is quite an achievement for Jelly Roll,” said Janny North, a long-time friend and training partner. “He used to be kind of, well, pudgy, as his name would suggest. But he’s really put in a lot of work to get in shape. We may have to change his name!”
