Is Obedience School Worth the Money?
In the face of rising student debt, many pups are wondering if obedience school is the right path for them.
“Employers generally prefer real-world experience to an obedience school degree,” says canine career counselor Jane Fowler. “A lot of dogs are looking for entry-level work in lieu of higher education.”
But should dogs forego a traditional education? Ideally, no, says Rob Koch, an analyst with job board Monster.com.
“Based on data we’ve seen, obedience school graduates get more eyeballs on their resumes on average. But, it doesn’t matter which school. So if loans are a concern, think about a state or community school that won’t leave you with too much debt when you graduate.”
