A Bichon Frise named Floodles has been reported missing after a light gust of wind wafted through the area Wednesday morning.
“It couldn’t have been more than five or seven miles per hour,” says Richard Conrad, who experienced the breeze and witnessed the dog’s ascent. “But it was just enough to carry Floodles right up into the air. He drifted for about 20 yards and went behind that tree. We haven’t seen him since.”
It’s not clear if Floodles intended to surf the breeze or was carried away against his will. But local authorities are keeping an eye out for signs of his return. “We’re hoping this low pressure system will turn the wind around and he’ll float back into town,” says Conrad. “Fingers crossed.”
